Ownership: more than 1 year
Pros: Easy to use. Wireless printing from any OS on my network. Just works. Works in Ubunbtu and Puppy Linux.
Cons: printer ink, as usual, is expensive. Phone handset sounds a bit funky.
Other Thoughts: After reading many reviews of other MF units, this one seemed the way to go.
I wasn't wrong. I had to understand my router a bit more to get it to have the unit on a static IP address but that was a good thing. I haven't tried scanning into Linux yet.
Ownership: 1 month to 1 year
Pros: Scans, Prints, Copies, Faxes, Wireless, answering machine, 5.8ghz phone, photo card readers, USB port, etc.. What more could you ask for?
I had a MFC-440cn and sold it along with my HL-1440 B&W Laser when I purchased my new MFC-9440cn Color Laser. Selling the MFC-440cn was a big mistake and I realized it too late (Color Lasers don't print well on photo paper and the inkjets do). I purchased the MFC-845cw to replace the MFC-440cn and have never been happier. It work great with 7 of my 8 computers, all Windows based.
Cons: Don't like the way I have to move the tray for 4 x 6 photo paper. This is the same on all of the MFC Series inkjet printers I've used. It's just a pain and I'll have to just deal with it.
Other Thoughts: This printer does just about everything. It's easier to tell you what it doesn't do. It doesn't wash my dishes or my clothes. I really like the MFC Series printers. So far I've had a MFC-440cn, MFC-465cn, MFC-845cw & MFC-9440cn. Just purchased a DCP-9040cn for my wife so she can use it at work. She wanted to take the MFC-9440cn but I said no! I offered her our old Color Laser before I sold it. It was a Konica Minolta MagicColor 2400w. The Brother MFC-9440cn I replaced the KM with is a much nicer printer and I'm glad I made that move.

Pros: A lot of features for the money. Wireless works great. Print quality is excellent. Individual color cartridges, so you don't waste expensive ink.
Cons: We print a lot of photos and this thing is an ink guzzler, we spent more on ink than the cost of the printer. You have to be very carefully on how you load the paper. Initially we got a lot of paper jams. Our 4x6 'override' tray ALWAYS jams, but we can use the main tray.
Other Thoughts: We bought this to replace our HP. The HP was a better built printer and had niceties like auto detect for paper type and size. That being sad, this is a very nice printer for the price.
Ownership: 1 week to 1 month
Pros: Sharp looking. Much smaller than an old HP All-In-One that it replaced. Nice to be able to print from my laptop without having my main computer on. Replacement print cartridges are far cheaper then HP. Fax, print, scan, copy all work great. Highly recommend for the home user.
Cons: Software has to be installed on each computer in order for that computer to print to the printer. This may or may not be totally accurate considering you can manually input options to set the printer up on your network. Although I have a fair amount of knowledge regarding computers, I lack in advanced networking skills. It may be possible to set the printer up on the network without the software but it was just easier for me to install the software. The software doesn't appear to have a very large footprint.

Other Thoughts: The additional phone was a great bonus. However, I don't use it because I don't have a phone line near the printer (I actually move the printer if I need to fax) which isn't a big deal because it is once in a blue moon that I actually fax something. Overall, great printer and would recommend to others.
Ownership: 1 week to 1 month
Pros: Very good print.
Good speed. Wireless works great. Easy to setup. Cordless phone is a great, cheap addition! OVERALL OUTSTANDING PIECE
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: I was very skeptical, as I have never owned a Brother item and I did have my doubts. However, a friend from an online forum suggested this all-in-one, and I did some research, and everyone was right. This thing is awesome. Very easy to setup, wireless works very well, the cordless phone works perfectly and is clear...I am VERY happy...
and of course, NewEgg does it again with their outstanding service and fast, cheap shipping. A happy customer here!
Ownership: 1 day to 1 week
Pros: As with most Brother products, you CAN NOT BEAT the price to feature ratio that this printer has. It seems like the scanning speed has improved over the MFC-420cn. Random: I actually sent a fax on this unit over a natted asterisk voip line with g711u connected to a Sipura SPA-2002.. the first time I tried. How's that for luck?
Cons: If you have a Netgear FS726TP 24 port switch, or potentially any other Power over Ethernet switch, beware!! Immediately after plugging in this printer to that switch, my entire network stopped working. I couldn't ping between hosts on my LAN. I can't get the switch to work again, it constantly thinks something is plugged into port 4 (where the Brother plugged in), and it has to be replaced under RMA. Crazy. I don't think the brother is wired to be PoE friendly, but I've never heard of that either.
Other Thoughts: These newer LC51 cartridges look harder to refill than the LC41's. I've been refilling those for about two years with a one liter bottle of black and a cheap refill kit that included a syringe. You can get two liters for one Benjamin Franklin bill (NWegg masks pricing in comments I think). Overall it's been $1.18 per LC41BK to refill. These look harder, but we'll see.
Ownership: more than 1 year
Pros: At last a printer that dosen't need to be used every few hours to keep from plugging up!!!
I love this printer. It has worked without any problems for over a year and a half for me. Brother Mfc J825dw Software
Cons: The phone rings about 4 rings later than our other phones?? I thought disabling the FAX would correct it but nope. My wife is the one that it really bothers, even though the Brother phone has a much better sound and features compared to our Vtek
Other Thoughts: I am glad Newegg also sells the cartridges as they are much less than say Staple for example. I really hope someday that the prices of any printer ink would become much less, must be technologyl imitations, most likely it is the ol' 'what the market will bare'
Brother Mfc J6535dw Printer
Ownership: 1 month to 1 year
Pros: See previous review. Also found that you can scan multiple pages automatically to pdf or multi-page tiff and save directly to a CF card. This is great if your computer cannot be hooked up or are having connectivity problems and/or you don't want to install the drivers on your computer.
Cons: I would give this printer a rating of 6 stars if I could. The only problem I've found so far is that 5.8GHz phone has fuzzy reception. It is not an issue of distance - there is always background static that both myself and my callers can hear.
